Otto Heller was one of the convoy 77 deportees who had attained a certain degree of fame. Born on December 14, 1897 in Vienna, Austria into a wealthy Jewish family from Bohemia, he became a journalist, writer, and Communist propagandist operating between Paris, Berlin and Moscow.

His father, Franz Heller, born in 1852, was a commercial agent. His mother, Marie-Löwie, was born in 1861 in Mlada Boleslav [1] .
