3) Chloroplasts - Where photosynthesis occurs which makes food for the plant and contains green substance called chlorophyll

When the plant has lots of water the guard cells fill with it and go plump and turgid which makes the stomata open so gases can be exchanged for photosynthesis

When short of water the guard cells lose water and become flacid which closes the stomata this stops water vapour escaping

|bīˈäləjē|: the study of living organisms, divided into many specialized fields that cover their morphology, physiology, anatomy, behavior, origin, and distribution.

Biology is a very content-heavy science, but the IGCSE examiners tend to be quite lenient- the mark schemes provide about 10 points to cover a four mark answer! To score in biology, all it takes is a bit of hard work and memorization. The best way to study for this is to find a nice, quiet place free of distractions- and to make your studying interesting and memorable. Once you’ve memorized it once, it becomes a bit mundane to memorize it again- so for me I revise through different mediums, for example, blogging.

I take notes on biology and write down precisely what we need to know according to the syllabus, nothing more and nothing less. Of course, it gets extremely monotonous. I have a strong interest in neuroscience, so I do more research into that just as a pet project. You should do that too- cultivate your love and interest in one specific area of biology so that you don’t get bored of memorizing the same thing over and over again.
