A man who shot up a bus in a road rage incident on Wednesday night attempted to pass as military personnel to police, according to officials.

Eng Kosal, 37, fired a handgun at a privately-owned bus several times when it failed to stop after colliding with his car in Phnom Penh’s Russei Keo district, according to a report by Mao Chanthon, the chief of the district’s anti-drug bureau, published on news website Fresh News.

Mr. Kosal, who was arrested at the scene for unlawful shooting of a firearm, told police he was working as a bodyguard and soldier from the military unit 499, the chief said in the report.

Albuquerque police said late Wednesday that a suspect had confessed to a road rage shooting that killed a four-year-old girl on Interstate 40.

Authorities said Tony Torrez, 32, had been charged with murder, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, assault with the intent to commit a violent felony, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, child abuse, child abuse resulting in death and tampering with evidence. He was being held on $650,000 bail.

Police said Torrez had confessed to Tuesday's shooting, which killed Lilly Garcia as she rode in a vehicle driven by her father Alan, who had just picked Lilly and her brother up from school.

The man was identified as George O’Neal, 59. The Marin County coroner’s office performed the autopsy Wednesday, and authorities have not determined whether the fight caused the death.

The incident occurred at about 12:45 p.m. Friday on northbound Highway 101 near the Redwood Landfill in Novato. The California Highway Patrol, based on its preliminary investigation, provided the following account.

Witnesses reported seeing a driver cutting other vehicles off and driving erratically, said CHP Officer Andrew Barclay. Then the driver apparently struck another vehicle intentionally, Barclay said.
