Techno-thriller and horror author Lincoln Child has become highly regarded for his fast-paced and well researched stories. He also tends to write with the author Douglas Preston and, not only that, a motion-picture of one of his novels, ‘Relic’, has been made.

Born in 1957 in the coastal town of Westport Connecticut USA, Lincoln Child has become a well established author of horror and techno-thrillers. Now living in Morristown, New Jersey he gained a major in English after graduating from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. To begin with he was an editorial assistant for Saint Martin’s Press, a position which he gained in 1979. By 1984 he was promoted to being a full-time editor. This was to be the basis of much of his experience as he edited large quantities of fiction novels during his time here.

During his time at St. Martin’s Press he founded their horror division for a mass-market audience. Shortly afterwards in 1987 he left though to become a systems analyst for ‘MetLife’, a life insurance company. It was in 1995 he completed his first book ‘Relic’, after which he left the company to pursue his own writing career. Having teamed up with Douglas Preston they formed a working relationship which helped build much of his career as they created a substantial amount of work together. It was in 2003 that he finished and published his first solo novel ‘Utopia’. Then in 2011 he made it to the top of the The New York Times best-seller list.
