On my days off I like to take time out to enjoy nature, I am in my happy place when I am by the ocean, there is something about the sea breeze and salty air.

I am fortunate enough to live in such an amazing place surrounded by beauty and I wanted to share with you some of my favorite walks and places I like to visit.

When in Melbourne I love to venture to Cocomamas for a smoothie bowl fix. These perfect bowls are packed with tasty goodness, it is a small store but you will not be sorry you stopped for a visit. Each bowl has a signature flavor, it really is amazing!!

It’s been awhile since I’ve made raglans but the Slim Fit Raglan and Rowan Raglan * are my go-tos. They fit the two of us well and I already have the pattern pieces traced and cut out. Why rock the boat?

I didn’t have anything specific in mind when I bought this  Raspberry Creek CLUB Fabric  but I think it goes beautifully with the coral I’ve had in my stash for years.

And as a bonus favorite thing, I was even able to share some of the work with Sweet Pea! She enjoys being a special big helper and I really enjoy sharing something I love with her. She might not grow up to be a sewist herself, but for now it’s something fun to share. Her favorite thing to do is pull the clips off and I have to be careful that she doesn’t pull them off too early.

And by my favorite things, I’m going to say that these are materials and products that I would like to use on my own house (yes, I am aware that if I used them all it would look like a student project but I might try anyways).

Made from polycarbonate resin and is inherently stronger than both glass and acrylic. Polycarbonate is 200 times stronger than glass, and 30 times stronger than acrylic. If you specify sheets in thicknesses greater than 16mm, it meets most thermal requirements (i.e.SHGC of .25). This product is inexpensive when compared to other assemblies and I just love the ethereal qualities you can achieve. I am currently looking to use this product in a tenant finish-out project for ballroom dancing.

Really not too much to say on this. I think walnut is beautiful and when properly sealed and finished looks as though it’s internally illuminated

In the original Broadway production, this song was introduced by Mary Martin playing Maria and Patricia Neway playing Mother Abbess. Julie Andrews , who played Maria in the 1965 film version of the musical, had previously sung the song on the Christmas special for The Garry Moore Show .

In the musical , the lyrics to the song are a reference to things Maria loves, such as "whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens". These are the things she selects to fill her mind with when times are bad.

The original Broadway musical places the song in the Mother Abbess's office, just before she sends Maria to serve Captain von Trapp 's family as governess to his seven children. However, Ernest Lehman , the screenwriter for the film adaptation, repositioned it so that Maria would sing it with the children during the thunderstorm scene in her bedroom, replacing " The Lonely Goatherd ", which had originally been sung at this point. Many stage productions also make this change, shifting "The Lonely Goatherd" to another scene.
