Locking issue until after additional internal investigations this weekend. UpdateConfiguration may not have actually ever been implemented for the CC3100 chip (N3W boards). But we may have a solution whereby we just retain configurations in memory.

When an IP is set programmatically (via code, at runtime; as opposed to at deploy time using MFDeploy or similar), the IP is written to flash memory. This is fine, except that every write uses up more flash space. If the IP is set too many times, all available flash memory will be used, and eventually the app will stop running, with no warning or information whatsoever. Several use cases exist where this can crop up. For instance, if the app sets an IP during initialization, and the device is restarted several times.

In the last few official firmware releases for the Netduino 3 that Secret Labs released, several API calls on the NetworkInterface class were changed to throw NotImplementedException exceptions so that this problem was not encountered, including:
