From what I can remember, my digestive health started to plummet from 2003. I’d grown up with asthma and had been constantly issued prescriptions for antibiotics and steroids to help fight chest infections.

In my late teenage years, I noticed that I was putting on lots of weight, which can be pretty normal as hormones change but what wasn’t normal was the fact I couldn’t go to the loo and was suffering from stomach pain and bloating.

I now go to the loo pretty much every day (which is a miracle!) and the bloating has gone down so much. I do occasionally get a bit of bloating when I’ve eaten too much of something high in FODMAPs, but it’s nothing like before. I’d normally get bloated within the hour and spend the next few days that way, trying to figure out what I’d eaten to set it off.

Just looked thru an realized that I didn’t update after the dr visit in June. It led to surgery in June tenth and it went well. The rest you can read in the august update

Wanted to tell y’all a little about this summers tests.
On June 10th Samantha had surgery again as you know. During that surgery she had a whole bunch of tests done on the tissue of the inflamed gland as well as the fluid. Well, it didn’t work as well as hoped. Three weeks later was the first analysis done. The microscopic one. Negative!  Ok. That it was last time too. This time however they noticed that there was no gland tissue in the sample. Which meant all the samples taken was from inflamed skin tissue instead of gland tissue. What now?

We needed to go back in and take new secretion swabs. The pathology tests couldn’t be done without cutting again so the dr decided to hold off on those. New swabs done, and our seven weeks waiting for test results started over again.
